Lets face it- not all of us have the blessing to be able to obtain a good night's rest to help prevent and cure the nightmare of dark under-eye circles. And sometimes, not even sleep is enough. The main causes for the appearance of the darkness shadowing underneath your eyes is possibly due to lack of sleep, aging, heredity, mental and/or physical stress, poor diet, and much more. Dark circles can affect both genders, and different age groups. On the brightside, you do not have to spend an outrageous amount of money on an antidote for your racoon eyes. Many remedies can be found in the comfort of your very own home.
The skin around your eyes is very delicate and absorbs nutrient quickly, caffeine reduces puffiness and increases circulation. Soak a cotton ball in a cup of fresh coffee and pat onto eye area. For the best results, repeat this daily.
Cucumbers have natural skin-lightening and natural brightening astringents perfect for curing those panda eyes. Apply thick chilled slices to the eyes for about 15 minutes. Repeat twice daily for a week or as often as you need it.
Raw Potatoes contain natural bleaching properties that help lighten the darkness underneath eyes. Place thick slices underneath your eyes for ten minutes, and rinse with cool water.
The vitamin C that is present in lemons has very strong lightening and brightening benefits. Use a cotton ball to apply fresh lemon juice around your eyes. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and rinse it off. Do this once daily for a few weeks.
Tomatoes have bleaching properties that can lighten skin to a great extent. Mix one teaspoon of tomato juice with one-half teaspoon of lemon juice. Gently apply this mixture on the dark circles and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Rinse it off with water. Follow this remedy twice a day for a few weeks.
